Just a stone's throw away from BnA STUDIO you can find 3331 Arts Chiyoda “a place to encounter multiple expressions” as described on their website.
Based in a renovated highschool, 3331 is an art hub redefining the idea of traditional museums.
‘3331 aims to break the barrier of inaccessibility often associated with art museums and instead create an art space which everyone can enter at ease, including a wide range of spaces which visitors can enjoy for free.”
Housing a number of galleries, studios, shared offices, stores and cafes across 4 floors, 3331 hosts a wide range of events, exhibitions and workshops with the objective of forming an international base for a new kind of art. Even before entering 3331 one can feel the creative energy swirling around the building, perhaps this is the memory of youthful energy of former highschool students or the collection of artists, salarymen, kids and cool grandmothers sitting on the wooden steps enjoying the afternoon sun, the energy is palpable.
Once you enter the building you are greeted with that glorious “Galley White” light from 3331s main gallery, exhibiting local and international art and unique concepts. This is quickly followed by the smell of freshly ground coffee from COPAINS de 3331, a cafe that sells delicious breads, perfect for a light breakfast or snack. On level one you can also find the Lomography+ store and if you follow us on instagram (@bnahotel) you know these guys are great friends and collaborators of ours, so we suggest checking out their cameras and films. We like the Lomo'Instant Wide camera and Chrome Purple film, you won’t leave empty handed.
Take your time exploring the rest of the building, there are many small galleries, studios and workshops. Immerse yourself in 3331 for a couple of hours then grab a coffee on the way out, we guarantee you'll feel refreshed and inspired.
